Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Set up and load spun bond web forming machine
   • Specifications are checked to identify requirements for filament production.
   • Raw materials containers and quantities are checked.
   • Machine settings are adjusted to meet product requirements.
   • Area around machine is cleaned during and on completion of setting and loading.
2. Operate and monitor spun bond web forming machine
   • Spun bond web forming machine is started and stopped according to machine manufacturer instructions and job requirements.
   • Machines operations are monitored to ensure safe and correct operation.
   • Waste is sorted.
   • Machine is cleaned when required.
   • Minor product process and machine faults are identified and corrected where necessary to meet specified requirements and are reported.
   • Major machine faults are reported.
   • Machine is operated according to OHS practices.
3. Check web quality
   • Formed web is checked against quality standards and production requirements.
   • Web faults and non-conformances are identified and rectified or reported.
4. Complete operations
   • Spun bond web is dispatched to bonding or finishing process.
   • Cleaning of area is completed to ensure work environment is maintained in a safe and productive manner.
   • Production records are accurately completed.
